Neeskens was renowned for his outstanding career as both a player and a coach. As a key player in the famous “Total Football” era of the Dutch national team in the 1970s, he was instrumental in leading the Netherlands to two World Cup finals in 1974 and 1978. His club career included notable stints at Ajax and Barcelona, where he won numerous trophies.

Later in his career, Neeskens transitioned into coaching, where he made an impact around the world, including in South Africa with Mamelodi Sundowns.
